Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
Types of Data Collected
Face Data
What face data we collect. The app offers an optional Face Scan feature. When you choose to use it, the app collects a standard 2D facial photograph that you capture or select. The app does not use ARKit face tracking, the TrueDepth camera, or any facial geometry API, and does not create or store a faceprint, facial template, facial embedding, or any other biometric identifier.
How we use it. Facial images are used solely to generate the aesthetic analysis, scoring, and appearance recommendations you request. We do not use facial images for facial recognition, identity verification, authentication, age estimation, advertising, ad targeting, profiling, or training AI models.
Disclosure and sharing. To generate your results, your facial image is transmitted over an encrypted (TLS) connection to OpenAI, our AI processing provider, acting solely as our Service Provider.
OpenAI is the only third party that receives facial images. We do not sell or rent facial images, and we do not disclose them to advertising networks, analytics providers, data brokers, affiliates, or any other party. Facial images are excluded from all other sharing described elsewhere in this Policy, including sharing with business partners, affiliates, and other users.
Third-party protection. OpenAI processes facial images only to return the requested result to us under contractual terms that prohibit any other use. OpenAI does not use content submitted through its API to train its models. OpenAI’s privacy policy is available at https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
Storage and retention. We do not store your facial images on our servers, and we retain no copy of them. Your photos and analysis results are stored only on your device and are accessible in the app’s History tab. They remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.
OpenAI retains API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, after which they are deleted in accordance with OpenAI’s policies.
Revoking consent. Your consent to the collection and use of face data is given each time you choose to use the Face Scan feature and can be withdrawn at any time. To revoke consent, stop using the Face Scan feature and revoke the app’s camera and photo access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera / Photos.
Deleting face data. You may delete any individual photo and its analysis result at any time in the app’s History tab, for example, by swiping left on the result and tapping Delete. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored photos and results, subject to your device’s operating system behavior. If you have questions or need assistance with deletion, contact us at privacy@starlightapps.net; we respond within 30 days.
